Dave Meltzer speculated today on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Brock Lesnar is not scheduled to be on the card later this month at WWE Payback, despite being advertised to appear.
The Beast Incarnate defeated Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship on Sunday at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. The latest storyline involving Lesnar likely won’t develop until after Payback.
Meltzer also reported that the Payback main event will feature Roman Reigns against Braun Strowman. After Payback, Strowman is expected to move on to a storyline as Lesnar’s next big rival.
WWE Payback is set for Sunday, April 30, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Another Payback match announced at Raw on Monday has former friends Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho renewing their feud for the United States Championship. It is rumored to be the final match of their program before Jericho takes a break from WWE to tour with his band, Fozzy.
