Why Cody Rhodes Is Taking Time Off Wrestling

Cody Rhodes recently revealed on Twitter that he is taking some time off wrestling, and The Observer is reporting Rhodes is spending the summer in Vancouver to film multiple episodes of the CW TV series “Arrow”, which premieres its new season on October 15th.

Update Alex Shelley’s Career Status

In somewhat related news, Alex Shelley posted a Tweet yesterday which hinted at the former TNA Champion possibly retiring from pro wrestling, however, that might not be entirely true.

The Tweet, which you can read below, never made reference to Shelley’s retirement, and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Shelley is currently taking time off to finish school and heal up. When Shelley is ready to return, his ROH contract will be expired, making him a free agent, so he’s effectively finished with ROH unless he decides to re-sign with the company.

In the end, MCMG’s final match was against @NickJacksonYB, @MattJackson13, @njpwShowT, and @njpwyohei_k. I really don’t think I could’ve asked for a better ending. Four guys I love very much who I hope I helped some over the years. Thank you, gentlemen.
